JOPLIN, MO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The 2,700 capacity Joplin Memorial Hall was converted into a triage center after an tornado carved a path of destruction through the town. The devastating storm left more than 130 dead, 900 injured and destroyed or significantly damaged numerous buildings, including St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
According to the Neosho Daily News, the venue served as a refuge for almost all of the 180 patients evacuated from St. Johns. Only critical patients were transferred elsewhere.
