TAMPA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A on-going feud between two Tampa-based morning radio DJs has gotten ugly after Todd "MJ" Schnitt filed suit against rival Bubba the Love Sponge Clem.
According to the St. Petersburg Times, Schnitt has filed a defamation suit against Clem, who has reportedly accused Schnitt of stealing money from his employer Clear Channel, calling him a "lying piece of crap," a "snitch" and a Bubba the Love Sponge Clem.a "real modern day stool pigeon." He has also referred to Schnitt's wife as a "whore" on several occasions.
Also identified as defendants in the suit were Cox radio, which carries Clem's morning show and Clem's entity, Bubba Radio Network.
Clem maintains that his comments were parody and would be clearly untrue to any onlooker.
"Everything I've said about MJ is my opinion, and everything is outlandish," Clem told the Times "He's not a midget, and obviously he's not a snitch."
The dispute is nothing new for the pair. They have been publicly at odds since they were both on the same Clear Channel radio stations in the market in 2000 where Schnitt was the #1 rated show and Clem the #2. Its not Clem's first brush with the law either – he was tried and acquitted of animal cruelty charges in 2002 after he featured a pig being castrated and slaughtered during a live broadcast of his show. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
