(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Roanoke Civic Center in Costa Mesa, CA has extended its ticketing agreement with Tickets.com. Included in the agreement is the integration of the SKIDATA's new handshake wireless, web-based access control system. Handshake is designed to allow facilities to authenticate and rapidly process large visitor volumes and supports the next generation of Tickets.com's digital products. The Roanoke Civic Center is the first Tickets.com venue to roll out this technology.
"We are very pleased with the successful implementation of this new ticketing enhancement," said Judy Blackwell, ticket office manager of the Roanoke Civic Center. "Overall the handshake technology will help reduce fraudulent tickets as well as help us better serve our patrons when they come to our venue to attend an event."
"Our focus is on customer service and improved access control for consumers is a definite plus," adds Mina Boyd, director of Civic Facilities.
"We're very pleased to continue our relationship with the Roanoke Civic Center," said Ron Gilbert, Northeast Regional Sales director for Tickets.com. "These latest enhancements to their digital ticketing system will deliver the highest degree of convenience and ease to their many patrons."
Through the use of the handshake technology, the Roanoke Civic Center will offer TicketsHome and other digital ticket functionality. In addition, the venue will also be able to monitor attendance and track guests in real time. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
