NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — British independent music company Sanctuary Group Plc has reportedly begun winding down its US label’s front-line efforts.
Sanctuary will continue to run catalog operations in the States, but has alerted US employees that it would be cutting operations by June 30th, according to Billboard.
The company announced last month that it was moving forward with its program of strategic disposals, and planned to realign its recorded product operations in the States.
A source familiar with the situation told Billboard that the label will continue to work records by artists such as the Ataris, House of Fools, Jonny Greenwood and Dolores O’Riordan.
“It is important to do the right things for albums like those,” the source told the magazine. “But then everyone who deals with front-line will be leaving at various times over the next few months,” including marketing, publicity and most sales personnel.
