South African Promoter Faces Murder Charge

CAPE TOWN SA (CelebrityAccess) — David Forbes, the founder of Boksburg’s H2O EDM events in and a consultant to the South African edition of the Ultra Music Festival is facing charges of murder in the death of an alleged ticket scalper.

According to eNews Channel Afica, Forbes is alleged to have shot 23-year-old Toufiq Joseph at a Cape Town gas station on January 24th.

The two men had allegedly agreed to meet at the gas station to discuss the sale of fraudulent festival tickets when the meeting turned confrontational. Forbes defense counsel argued that Forbes acted in self defense, shooting Toufiq after he allegedly threatened Forbes with a knife.

Forbes has plead not guilty to a charge of murder in the case and been released on R20,000 bail. – Staff Writers
