SANTA MONICA, CA (Hypebot) – Universal Music apparently rented space in the video vault which suffered heavy fire damage yesterday. A source told Deadline Hollywood (via Daily Swarm) that inside were 1000's of original Decca, MCA and ABC masters including Bing Crosby, The Andrew Sisters, Judy Garland and The Carpenters.
If true, it's sad the masters were not stored in a more fire proof environment. On the bright side, perhaps UMG can turn around its fading fortunes by going into the ash tray and snack bowl business. How to melt records
