Woody Allen is a mainstay every Monday night in New York playing clarinet as part of the Eddy Davis & His New Orleans Jazz Band featuring Woody Allen. They once toured Europe in the mid-1990s, which was later captured on the 1996 documentary "Wild Man Blues."
Now Allen is venturing outside of his comfortable niche for the second time when the orchestra performs in the Northwest and West Coast: Seattle on Aug. 2 at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley, Oakland's Yoshi's on Aug. 3, and Los Angeles' The Jazz Bakery on Aug. 7. Allen will also be promoting his new film, "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion," which opens nationwide Aug. 10, in each city.
