LONDON (CelebrityAccess) In case you may have slept through the BRIT Awards – because of the time zone, you Yanks – Music Week has provided several of the highlights.
Probably the biggest highlight may have been Dua Lipa accepting her award for British female solo artist.
“Here’s to more women on these stages, more women winning awards and more women taking over the world,” Lipa said while proudly holding up her award.
Meanwhile, Stormzy made it clear that he is the future, winning Best British Male and Best British Album, and he was overwhelmed while accepting both awards.
“I gave everything, every emotion, we made something undeniable,” he said. He then closed the BRITs with a performance that included a fake storm.
Meanwhile, the Manchester Arena attack got a memorial, with the city’s Liam Gallagher on hand, and Take That’s Gary Barlow noting that “14,000 innocent, music-loving people” had their lives changed forever.
Also, host Jack Whitehall got high marks for being irreverent and entertaining.
