LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) The 58 families of the slain victims of the Las Vegas festival shooting are expected to receive $275,000 each from a GoFundMe campaign.
The Las Vegas Victims Fund will also award a maximum $275,000 to 10 people who were paralyzed or suffered permanent brain damage at the Oct. 1 shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival. The fund said there were more than 90,000 donors to the cause, with almost 40 percent coming from the Southern Nevada gaming, tourism, and entertainment industry. The Vegas Strong Fund, established by several Vegas gaming resorts, contributed $5.2 million, and MGM Resorts Foundation contributed $4 million, according to a statement.
“In no way can it replace someone’s life,” Al Etcheber, the brother-in-law of victim Stacee Etcheber, told the Associated Press. “Still, it is a real nice way to help families who lost someone they loved.”
