AUSTIN, Texas (CelebrityAccess) Austin, Texas, public television affiliate KLRU is moving for the first time since it went on air in 1962 and with it goes the original studio for “Austin City Limits.”

KLRU has operated at the University of Texas all these years but is expected to move to Austin Community College’s Highland campus in 2010, allowing it a little more elbow room and an expanded role in the community, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

Studio 6A at KLRU was the home to “Austin City Limits,” the longest-running music performance show in TV history, for 36 years. The show is now hosted by the Moody Theater at the W Austin Hotel.

Studio 6A currently broadcast shows like “Central Texas Gardener” and “Overheard with Evan Smith” as well as hosting town hall meetings, according to the paper.
