LONDON (CelebrityAccess) – London-based music tech firm 7digital has today (Sept. 24) announced a multi-year, multi-territory partnership with Universal Music Group, which will see the companies joining forces on a new music streaming service.
Under the terms of the new deal, 7digital, which aims to provide a range of services to record labels that can assist them in creating fresh revenue streams outside of the standard £9.99 digital model, will power online stores for various UMG artists through which fans can purchase things like curated playlists, new singles, artist merchandise and other products.
According to CityAM, the companies actually test ran the model on Shania Twain and Kanye West back in 2017, and it proved hugely successful.
