OXNARD, CAR (CelebrityAccess) — Former welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz is facing charges of felony rape after he was alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman at her home in March.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Ortiz, 31, of Tarzana, is charged with forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, and penetration by a foreign object.
Oxnard Police began a lengthy investigation of Ortiz after a woman filed a complaint on March 19th alleging that he had assaulted her.
Ortiz was taken into custody and later released on a $100,000 bond. He has not entered a plea, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Ortiz has been a professional boxer since he was 2017 and was recognized as the World Boxing Council’s welterweight champion until he lost his title to Floyd Mayweather Jr.
He has also appeared on Dancing With The Stars as well as in films such as “The Expendables” and “Southpaw.”
