GUANAJUATO, Mexico (CelebrityAccess) Architects HKS have reportedly been chosen to design a football stadium and an entertainment district in for the Léon soccer team in Guanajuato, Mexico.
The stadium will have 35,000 seats and 400 VIP Suites, and a 160-room hotel will be built next to it, according to Pan Stadia.
Grup Pachuca, which owns Léon, is building the stadium with the state government.
“The new Léon Club stadium is without doubt the most important project that HKS has had in the 16 years since the company established its first office in Mexico,” HKS Mexico Director Ricardo Rondon said in a statement. “For us to win this competition to design the project is an honour. The fact that we are in Mexico to serve our clients gave us a competitive advantage.”
The stadium is expected to open in 2024, according to Pan Stadia.
