NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) Taylor Swift has donated $113,000 to the Tennessee Equality Project, which fights for LGBTQ rights in the state and is combating current state legislation.
Chris Sanders, executive director for the group, announced the donation in a Facebook post.
“Taylor Swift has been a long-time ally to the LGBTQ community,” Sanders wrote. “She sees our struggle in Tennessee and continues to add her voice with so many good people, including religious leaders, who are speaking out for love in the face of fear.”
The post includes a photo of a letter sent from Swift, in which she says she felt “inspired” by the organization’s work combating a proposed series of bills in the Tennessee General Assembly.
