ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CelebrityAccess) – At least 10 people were shot outside of an Allentown nightclub early Thursday morning.
According to the Associated Press, the victims had mostly just left Deja Vu Nightclub in the 300 block of West Hamilton Street around 2 a.m. Thursday when the shooting occurred.
Witnesses described panicked people fleeing on foot and at least one car was spotted driving away at high speed, CBS News reported
In a statement to media, a police spokesperson said all the victims were taken to area hospitals and are expected to recover.
The District Attorney’s Office said they believe there were at least three alleged shooters involved in the attack and they believe the shooting was gang-related.
“It appears that at least one individual was a target,” Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin and Allentown Police Chief Tony Alsleben said in a statement reported by the Associated Press. “Although not confirmed, in our opinion based upon investigative information … it is more likely than not that the outcome of the investigation will reveal a connection to gang violence.”
