PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) – Meek Mill is due in court Tuesday (Aug. 27) to learn if Philadelphia prosecutors will drop a 2007 case that’s kept him under court supervision for more than a decade, according to The Associated Press.
Earlier this year Philadelphia appeals court threw out Mills’ 2008 conviction on gun and drug charges when the 32-year-old rapper petitioned the court for a new trial after evidence came to light that the police officer who testified in his case had been placed on an internal “do not call list” for officers accused of misconduct.
The unanimous three-judge decision also threw out Mills’ probation violation ruling that sent him to prison for five months in 2017, as well as removing the judge, Genese Brinkley, who had overseen the rapper’s case since 2008.
District Attorney Larry Krasner could also choose to retry the case or seek a plea agreement, reports the AP.
