NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — BMG has promoted label veteran Andreas Katsambas to the newly created role of EVP, Latin America and Canada amidst an international expansion for the label.
Katsambas’ new portfolio at BMG includes developing the music company’s recordings and publishing infrastructure as well as revenues in the markets he oversees. Currently, 50 percent of MBG’s revenues come from the US, but the company is looking further afield as international markets become increasingly important in the era of digital delivery.
He will be based in New York and will report directly to BMG’s CEO Hartwig Masuch.
BMG already has partnerships in place in Latin America including Seitrack, a full label services operation based in Mexico City, with new partnerships to be developed in major key markets including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru.
In Brazil, Katsambas will work closely with BMG GM Jasmina Zammit.
In Canada, Katsambas will oversee strategic business development, as well as setting up infrastructure in both Toronto and Montreal to support BMG’s US and international repertoire.
Newly appointed SVP Global Recordings, Jason Hradil, will manage all repertoire releases there, BMG said.
Katsambas joined BMG in 2017 following BMG’s acquisition of his label The End Records. Katsabas’s previous gigs include a stint BMG’s SVP Global Recordings in the US, where he was responsible for overseeing marketing campaigns for both inbound/outbound international recordings including releases by Morrissey, The Cranberries, Marianne Faithfull, Lenny Kravitz, Dido, Kylie Minogue, Perry Farrell, and Lil Dicky, among others.
