(CelebrityAccess) – Philadelphia-native singer/songwriter Luis Figueroa has joined Sony Music Latin.
Figueroa graduated from Berklee College of Music, was Romeo Santos’ backing and featured vocalist during his last two international tours and, in 2017, performed at Billboard Latin Music Awards. As a songwriter, Figueroa has contributed to tracks including “Por Perro” by Sebastián Yatra ft. Lary Over, and “Telepatía” by Norwegian EDM artist Matoma. Additionally, he has appeared as a featured artist on Yashua’s “Pa Las Babies,” which was co-written by Cris Chill.
Commenting on the deal, Alex Gallardo, President of Sony Music US Latin, said: “Luis has diligently developed every facet of his career including singing, songwriting, producing, acting, live performance and promotion. We are very pleased to join him in this next major step of his development.”
Added Figueroa: “I feel honored to sign with Sony because my favorite artists growing up, like Marc Anthony and Romeo Santos, are here. I am ready to have a record out, and ready to have an album out.”
Figueroa’s debut single “La Especialista” is due out on October 4.
