NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — While legendary crooner Tony Bennett has received numerous accolades for his long career in music, The Art Students League of New York announced plans to recognize him for his artistic work in the medium of paint.

The League announced it plans to honor Bennett with the Everett Raymond Kinstler Lifetime Achievement during a gala at The Paradise Club, an event space inside the Times Square EDITION Hotel on Nov. 4th.

The “Expect the Unexpected”-themed evening will feature a three-course meal from chef John Fraser, and will be hosted by American singer, actor, and dancer Joel Grey. There also will be live performances by Grey, indie rock outfit Susan Said, and more.

The award, named for noted American portraitist and Bennett’s longtime friend Raymond “Ray” Kinstler, will recognize Bennett for his substantial portfolio of paintings. Bennett, who paints as Tony Benedetto includes oil paintings and watercolors depicting landscapes from Nice to New York and ink drawings ranging from self-portraits.

His artwork will be on display at the Art Students League of New York’s American Fine Arts Society Gallery on November 5th.
