NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Nashville-based Outback Presents announced the hiring of Benton Wharton as a new talent buyer at the concert promotion company.
Wharton got his start in the industry as the founder and owner of the Asheville, North Carolina-based Mountain Roots Management. In 2011, he jumped to the live side of the industry when he was named talent buyer at Pisgah Brewing Company, where he would spend the next eight years.
During his tenure, he also served as Marketing and Events Director, helping to develop the venue into Western North Carolina’s top outdoor stage, according to the reader-voted Mountain Xpress poll.
While at Pisgah, Wharton helped to develop several successful boutique festivals brands including The Marcus King Band Family Reunion (2017-present); Jam in the Trees (2016-2018); Leftover Salmon’s Blue Ridge Jam (2017-present); Dark Star Orchestra’s Pisgah Jubilee (2019); as well as the inaugural Strings and Suds (2019).
