LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Billie Eilish has officially overtaken The Weeknd as the artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify. The 22-year-old singer/songwriter reached a remarkable milestone on Monday (August 19), surpassing the 34-year-old artist’s monthly listeners. According to Billboard, Eilish now boasts 100.1 million listeners on the platform, edging out The Weeknd’s 99.8 million. This makes her the third artist to surpass the 100 million mark on Spotify, joining The Weeknd and Taylor Swift, which currently has 91.7 million monthly listeners.

Eilish’s accomplishment is unsurprising, considering her music has consistently garnered billions of streams on the platform. Eight of her 82 songs are part of Spotify’s Billions Club, a distinction for tracks with over a billion streams. These include:

– “Lovely” with Khalid – 2.8 billion
– “Bad Guy” – 2.5 billion
– “When the Party’s Over” – 1.8 billion
– “Everything I Wanted” – 1.6 billion
– “Ocean Eyes” – 1.4 billion
– “Happier Than Ever” – 1.3 billion
– “Idontwannabeyouanymore” – 1.09 billion
– “Bury a Friend” – 1.01 billion

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, currently has 17 songs in Spotify’s Billions Club, with his hit “Blinding Lights” leading the way with 4.4 billion streams. Meanwhile, Swift has 12 tracks in the Billions Club, with “Cruel Summer” being her most-streamed track at 2.4 billion.

Last week, The Weeknd supported Eilish as she approached his record, tweeting “Let’s go!” with emojis of hearts, prayer hands, and a line graph. Eilish’s latest milestone further solidifies her status as one of the music industry’s biggest stars.

Her third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, released in April, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with all 10 tracks entering the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. Eilish’s previous albums, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and Happier Than Ever, topped the Billboard 200 for three weeks each. At 22, she is also the youngest artist to win two Oscars, with her song “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack contributing to her continued popularity.
