AMAGANSETT, NY (CelebrityAccess) – On Wednesday (August 20) night, Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney made a surprise stage appearance at the tiny NY venue Stephen Talkhouse during a show by friend and producer Andrew Watt and the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. He took the mic and sang the Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There” and “Rockin’ In The Free World” by Neil Young. You can hear the crowd screaming their approval in the background.

One Instagram user commented under the video of McCartney on stage – “The entire crowd was stunned in awe when rock & roll god @paulmccartney jumped on stage at @talkhousebar last night with @chadsmithofficial, @thisiswatt, and @gesmithmusic. Paul dropped the mic when he finished like a rap battle and walked off. Mind blown. One of the coolest things we’ve all ever seen.” The video, posted to social media, can be seen below.

Watt and McCartney previously worked together on the Rolling Stones’ album Hackney Diamonds, which Watt produced and for which McCartney guested on the song “Bite My Head Off.”

McCartney will return to the road on October 1 in Montevideo, Uruguay, and tour South America through mid-November. A run of European and U.K. shows begins December 4 in Paris.
