NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess) – The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced the upcoming release of a commemorative stamp honoring the late Allen Toussaint, a pivotal figure in New Orleans’ music scene. This stamp will be the 48th in the Black Heritage series, celebrating the contributions of African American individuals to American culture.

About Allen Toussaint:
Allen Toussaint (1938–2015) was a renowned pianist, singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer whose work spanned nearly six decades. His contributions significantly shaped the rhythm and blues of New Orleans, leaving an indelible mark on American music.
Stamp Design:
The stamp features a photograph of Toussaint at the piano, taken by Bill Tompkins in 2007. Designed by art director Ethel Kessler, the stamp will be issued as a Forever stamp, maintaining its value equal to the current First-Class Mail® one-ounce price.
Availability:
The Allen Toussaint stamp will be available for purchase starting January 30, 2025, in a pane of 20 stamps. Collectors and the public can acquire the stamps through the USPS website or at local post offices.
