GEORGE, Wash. (CelebrityAccess) — Investigators with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are seeking first-hand witnesses in a pair of allegedly unprovoked assaults during Saturday’s Phish concert at the Gorge Amphitheater that left two concert-goers hospitalized.

According to a statement released by investigators,

Detectives told KULR that one victim was near the stage when the assault occurred and the second was some distance away. Both men were bludgeoned with rocks and neither victim knew each other or was able to identify their attacker.

The two victims – a 46-year-old Washington man and a 38-year-old man from Colorado – each suffered head trauma in the assaults and were taken to a medical tent in the venue, which was when law enforcement became aware of the assaults.

The two men were both transported to an area hospital for further care. One victim was treated and released, the other victim remains hospitalized in stable condition, the Sheriff’s department said.

A thread on Phish’s Reddit page suggested that a group of apparent neo-nazis were present at the festival and may have been responsible for the attacks.

One of the two victims, Samir Poles, took to Facebook after the attack to give a first-hand account:

GoFundMe pages to help defray medical costs for both victims have been established.
