SYDNEY (CelebrityAccess) — Grammy winning-singer Adele paused her concert in Sydney on Friday while a fan was treated for a medical emergency.
According to the BBC, Adele halted her performance in front of 95,000 fans when she learned that a 47-year-old woman suffered a heart attack, telling fans that she didn't want to exacerbate the woman's distress with the show's pyrotechnic displays.
"Security staff were trying to rouse her because they assumed she fainted," Adele fan Daniel Lowe told 9news.com.au.
"It took a full song for the actual on-site medics to respond.
"They then started performing chest compressions for a good 15 to 20 minutes until ambulance officers arrived with proper equipment."
She went on to apologize to the crowd for the delay and for ruining the surprise fireworks.
"Sorry. Someone got hurt. I ruined the surprise for you didn't I?" Adele told the crowd. – Staff Writers
