AEG Facilities Tapped To Manage Colorado Springs World Arena


COLORADO SPRINGS (CelebrityAccess) — AEG Facilities announced that they have signed a deal with The Colorado Springs World Arena to provide a range of services, including booking and sponsorship sales.

It was also announced that thru a just-completed naming rights agreement, the Colorado Springs World Arena will take on its original name, the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, a nod to the long history and connection shared by the Arena and the Broadmoor. The non-profit ownership and management will remain the same under the non-profit Colorado Springs World Arena. The original Broadmoor World Arena opened in 1938 as part of the Broadmoor Hotel and was home ice to many Olympic skaters and special events.

The 9,200-capacity Colorado Springs World Arena first opened on its current site in 1998 and has hosted numerous live music events, including concerts by arrie Underwood, Elton John, Aerosmith, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown, Willie Nelson, Cher, Eagles, James Taylor, Styx, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, Linkin Park, Match Box 20, Liza Minnelli, Neil Young, Journey, ZZ Top, Rod Stewart, Reba McEntire, Allison Krauss and REO Speed Wagon.

The arena has also hosted numerous major major national sporting exhibitions and championships including USA Synchronized Skating (2007 and 2014), USA Taekwondo (2004, 2012-2014), USA Women’s Hockey (1998), USA Volleyball (2000 and 2001), Skate America (1999-2001), Grand Prix Figure Skating (2003), NCAA Hockey West Regionals (2004, 2008), 4 Continents Figure Skating (2006 and 2012), World Synchronized Skating (2010) as well as pre-season NBA and NHL exhibition games featuring the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche.
