HOLLYWOOD (VIP NEWS) — Akon has signed with CAA for worldwide representation in all areas, including touring, merchandise, and endorsements.
The artist has sold over nine millions albums worldwide and founded two record labels which launched the careers of Lady Gaga and T-Pain.
He rose to prominence with the hit single "Locked Up" from his 2004 debut album, Trouble.
His second album, "Konvicted," earned him three Grammy Award nominations for the singles "Smack That" featuring Eminem and "I Wanna Love You" featuring Snoop Dogg. Akon has had more than 40 Billboard Hot 100 songs and more than 300 guest appearances on songs from artists ranging from Michael Jackson to Gwen Stefani to Leona Lewis.
His music video with "Saturday Night Live" comedy group The Lonely Island, comprised of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, "I Just Had Sex," became an Internet sensation with more than 36 million YouTube views.
