(CelebrityAccess News Service) – Timothy J Leiweke, president and CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group and Concerts West's co-chairman, and Irving Azoff have jointly announced that Azoff has resigned as co-chairman of Concerts West to focus his full time efforts on his Azoffmusic Management company that includes Eagles, Christina Aguilera, Steely Dan, Seal and Jewel on its roster. Azoff, however, will continue his association with AEG LIVE as a special consultant, and the company will acquire Azoff's interest in Concerts West.
Leiweke said Azoff was not only instrumental in facilitating AEG's acquisition of Concerts West but also establishing AEG LIVE as one the nation's top two live entertainment companies.
"It was Irving's tremendous passion, commitment and experience that gave AEG
LIVE the instant credibility and respect that ultimately allowed us the ability to grow the company at such a rapid and successful rate," Leiweke said. "We are grateful to Irving and respect his desire to concentrate full time on his management company and appreciate the fact that he has committed to being available to serve as a consultant to our company."
