Blankenship Appointed As Dir. Of Marketing For Ruth Eckerd


CLEARWATER, FL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Eric Blankenship has been appointed as Director of Marketing of Ruth Eckerd Hall and the historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Clearwater as announced by Ruth Eckerd Hall, Inc. President and CEO Robert Freedman.

In response, Eric said, “I’m proud to be a part of the team at such a loved and respected venue in the Bay area and around the world.  The many facets of Ruth Eckerd Hall and the Capitol Theatre allow me to apply my past experience in entertainment in a variety of areas – and I’m looking forward to that,” he continued.Prior to joining Ruth Eckerd Hall, Blankenship had a twelve year career in marketing, most recently as Vice President of Marketing at Comcast-Spectacor in Philadelphia, PA.  In addition to managing traditional show-related marketing, promotion, group sales and public relations responsibilities, Eric was also instrumental for the launch of a new brand identity which included new logos, colors, uniforms, court and creative.

Blankenship has a variety of experiences in the sports and entertainment industry that include Comcast-Spectacor/Global Spectrum-Rose Quarter in Portland, OR, Comcast-Spectacor/Global Spectrum – Everett Events Center in Everett, WA and the Ice Palace (now the St. Pete Times Forum) in Tampa, FL.  During that time as Marketing Manager, he coordinated all marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations for a variety of events and a host of concerts and shows.

In addition to all components of marketing the performances of the main stage of Ruth Eckerd Hall, the department will oversee the marketing for the historic Capitol Theatre in the Cleveland Street District in Downtown Clearwater, the Hoffman Institute (the educational division of Ruth Eckerd Hall), the facility rentals and conferences at the venue, all publications and graphic design, group ticket sales and promotions.
