Bono Undergoes Two Surgeries Following Bike Accident

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — New information about the severity of Bono's injuries sustained in his recent bicycle accident in New York have come to light, making it seem like it was more than just a little spill.

According to the BBC, Bono broke his arm in six places and fractured his eye socket, hand and shoulder blade in the accident.

The hospital where he was treated – New York's Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center – revealed that Bono underwent a five-hour operation on Sunday to treat his arm, repairing it was three metal plates and 18 screws. Bono underwent surgery on his hand the following day.

Orthopaedic trauma surgeon, Dean Lorich told the BBC that Bono would require intensive and progressive therapy but expected that he would fully recover.

A statement from the hospital revealed a little more information about the accident itself, saying Bono was involved in "a high-energy bicycle accident when he attempted to avoid another rider". – Staff Writers
