(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Bringing back that old school industry feel, to before we were all personified by little more than our email signatures, CelebrityAccess hosted a Grammy-week industry Networking Event at the Knitting Factory Hollywood’s newly-restored front room, featuring talents provided by DreamScapers International, at which industry members from the Los Angeles area were able to meet up face to face.
On February 9th, a room full of performance industry pros were treated to performances by comedic rap group SupaFloss, hard rockers Blackmaker, rootsy blues-man Danny McGuinness, and Johnny Cash’s classic backing band, the Legendary Tennessee Three.
Throughout the night, networking industry members were able to discuss different talent they handle, what events they have planned, ideas and concepts for the future, and build connections with other local professionals.
Roger Martinsen of DreamScapers worked with Fender Guitars to auction off a Fender Resonator, signed by Tennessee Three members Bob Wootton and WS Holland, with all proceeds going directly to the MusicCares foundation to benefit New Orleans musicians affected by Hurricane Katrina.
"The event was a great way for industry professionals to network during music's biggest week," commented Martinsen. "It was a unique opportunity to showcase DreamScapers' artists to the business community."
The transition from the virtual to the real world was a resounding success for everyone involved, including CelebrityAccess' very own Frank "Frankie" Pestello who hosted the gathering. It was a great opportunity to meet new friends and make new connections in the industry.
“I am excited to see local/regional professionals getting out and creating that personal bond again,” Pestello said of the event. “When we know who we can work with… there is generally so much more we can do.”
Future events will be planned around the country, to help bring local performance professionals together, and to once again work alongside those we’ve forged digital relationships with over the years.
