In its maiden year, the Rising Sun Music Festival, presented by Horizon
Productions, will celebrate country, rock and blues music and feature a blend of legendary and emerging performers. The four-day festival will take place August 7-10 at the Indian Lookout Country Club in Pattersonville, NY. With a roster of more than 30 bands on three stages, the festival also offers music lovers an unique and family-friendly camping experience within the pristine countryside of the Adirondack region and a variety of vendors and activities for both kids and adults.
The lineup includes Blues Traveler headlining on August 7 and in his only appearance in the Northeast in 2003, Jonny Lang will perform on August 8. The Gin Blossoms and Dwight Yoakam will appear on the Main Stage on August 9 with Martina McBride will close out the festival on August 10. The festival will also feature Jeff Pitchell, Terri Clark, Mark Farner, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, Lee Roy Parnell, Kellie Coffey, Warren Brothers, Ingram Hill, and The Becky Chace Band.
Adjacent to the Main Stage will be the Kids Stage, a three-acre amphitheater which will host local, regional and national talent from music and magic acts to interactive shows and skits. The third stage, the Rising Sun Lounge, provides an intimate setting for audience members to engage and be entertained by talented local and regional artists. The lounge will also feature a number of special guest appearances.
Proceeds from the “Rays of Hope” raffle tickets, which can be purchased at www.risingsunmusicfest.com or during the 4-day festival for $10.00 will benefit the Prevent Child Abuse NY organization (www.preventchildabuse.org) and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org). The Grand Prize will be a 2003 Chevy Avalanche; 2nd Prize will be a custom made Gibson Guitar, as featured in the Rising Sun Music Festival’s logo, with signatures by all Main Stage artists; 3rd Prize will be a signed Jonny Lang guitar; and 4th Prize will be a signed Jeff “the Pitch” Pitchell guitar. Adult camping / festival passes are $125.00 (ages 13 and over), children camping / festival passes are $40.00 (ages 6 to 12 years) and children ages 5 and under are free. A limited amount of day tickets are also available for $45.00 per person/per day (all ages).
