Free Times Announces 6th Annual Music Awards

CLEVELAND (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Cleveland Free Times has announced the 6th Annual Music Awards, at the Odeon Concert Club in Cleveland on Thursday, February 24, 7:30 p.m., honoring the best and brightest musical talent that Northeast Ohio has to offer.

The Music Awards MC for the evening will be local radio station WMMS’s morning show hosts, Sean, Cristi & Hunter. Celebrity guest presenters include Tim “Ripper” Owens (formerly of Judas Priest and currently of Iced Earth) and WMMS personalities Mark “Munch” Bishop, Maria, Maxwell and Jesse, and FOX 8 News personality Kenny Crumpton. Other guest presenters include Bill Peters from Warner/Elektra/Atlantic, Steve Dobo of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, poster artist Derek Hess, and Mike Belkin Sr., Michael Belkin Jr. and Barry Gabel of Belkin Productions.

Performing bands include DJ Larry Szyms (nominee for Best DJ), Amps II Eleven
(nominee for Best Hard Rock), Alan Greene Band (nominee for Best Guitarist), Machine Go Boom (nominee for Best Indie/Underground), The Whiskeyhounds (nominee for Americana/Roots), This Is Exploding (nominee for Best Rock) and Johnny Psycho (Best Punk/Hardcore).

Musicians and bands in 22 categories were nominated and selected by Free Times readers through mail-in and online voting. Winners and celebrity presenters will be featured in a special Music Awards issue of the Free Times on Wednesday, March 2.
