Global Spectrum And Michigan State University Reach Agreement On Operational Audit

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Global Spectrum has been selected by Michigan State University to conduct an operational audit for the Jack Breslin Student Events Center on the university's campus in East Lansing, MI. After an in-depth RFP process, Michigan State University chose Global Spectrum from a field of 13 respondents to conduct a comprehensive audit of all aspects of MSU's Jack Breslin Student Events Center.

"We wanted advice from an expert operator that understands the complexities of operating a "public" arena on a university campus," said Michael Rice, director of Auxiliary Services for MSU. "Global Spectrum's response, coupled with the company's background, experience and references made them our clear choice."

"Global Spectrum, which primarily provides full-service management contracts, ventures into consulting projects on a very selective basis. The stature of Michigan State University and the Breslin Center, combined with our expertise in the facility management field, made this a project one that we were anxious to pursue," said Global Spectrum President Michel Sauers. "Global Spectrum's Senior Vice President Frank E. Russo, Jr., who has already begun the auditing process with a two-day visit to Lansing and extensive meetings with virtually all users, stakeholders and partners, will be our lead consultant. Several of our corporate staff and on-site facility staff will be involved in the research and analysis of the various aspects of the operational audit."

"We are anxious to work with Global Spectrum to find ways to improve operations, events management, booking and scheduling of events and overall bottomline performance," said Breslin Center Executive Director Scott Breckner. "Our initial meetings indicated to us that Global Spectrum knows exactly how to satisfy our objectives. I anticipate that their final report will not only be comprehensive, but also realistic and therefore very usable."

As public assembly facility operators, Global Spectrum provides management for six university facilities, including the Ryan Center at University of Rhode Island; University of Miami Convocation Center; Liacouras Center at Temple University; Constant Convocation Center at Old Dominion University; Colonial Center at University of South Carolina; and Whittemore Center Arena at University of New Hampshire. The company also manages the Fargodome, home of North Dakota State University football. Global Spectrum also provides management and event booking consulting services for Ohio State University's Jerome Schottenstein Center. –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
