Hall & Oats Join Artists In Arizona Boycott

PHOENIX, AZ (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Arizona received another lashing for its controversial immigration law when Hall and Oats cancelled their Diamonbacks’ post-game concert at Chase Field scheduled for July 2nd.

Daryl Hall and John Oates join other entertainers such as Shakira, Kanye West, Carlos Santana, Willie Nelson, and Los Lobos in their boycott against performing in Arizona.

The uprising is a result of Arizona’s new law aimed at cracking down on illegal immigrants.

Hall and Oates issued the following statement according to USA Today:

"In addition to our personal convictions, we are standing in solidarity with the music community in our boycott of performing in Arizona at this time. We would like to emphasize that this has nothing to do with the management of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have been professional and cooperative throughout our dealings with them. This is our response to a very specific action of the state."

Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall said the team understood the reasoning. "The cancellation of this post-game concert is another example of how controversial this issue is," he said according to the USA Today. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
