House of Blues Lawsuit Dismissed By Judge

The House of Blues lawsuit claiming Los Angeles City officials improperly threw out its bid to operate the Greek Theater was dismissed by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Yaffe. The judge said HOB didn't have enough facts to support its claim and gave HOB 21 days to refile with additional information.

A list of minimum requirements for any new bids was recently released. Among them – the new Greek operator must guarantee a yearly minimum of $15 million in revenue. In its original bid, HOB projected it would be able to return about $23.5 million to the city over the contract's 10-year period. Nederlander's competing bid offered $18.5 million (CA, Feb. 28, 2001).
