Japanese Tourists Rooked For Free Concert Tickets

VIENNA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A group of Japanese tourists were bilked when they paid $399 for tickets to a free open-air concert in Vienna, Austrian newspaper Der Standard reported.

The tickets were billed as an add-on feature to a travel package. The flyer advertising the fraudulently-sold tickets claimed that the price included "private concert" by the orchestra in case of inclement weather, backstage access, a buffet and a reception.

While it is unclear who was behind the swindle, Viennese organizers have claimed they were unaware of the con, stating that they are "appalled" at this turn of events.

The classical music concert, held in Vienna's Schoenbrunn Palace is held free of charge and featured the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. More than 140,000 festival-goers attended this year's event. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
