PITTSBURGH (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A Pittsburgh-area record collector hopes to sell his vintage vinyl for at least $1 a record.
But so far, nobody has offered the minimum bid on Paul Mawhinney's three million records, which are up for sale on eBay through 6 p.m. Thursday.
Mawhinney started collecting records in 1951 when he bought a Frankie Laine single called "Jezebel."
Mawhinney's collection evolved into a store, Record Rama. But Mawhinney is looking to get out of the business because he's 68 years old, legally blind and hopes to retire.
Among the records in his collection is a Rolling Stones collection of mono singles that were remastered in stereo for FM radio stations. Mawhinney says that record is worth $10,000 because only 300 were made. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
