Motley Crue Announces Final Tour Plans

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — After more than three decades together, the iconic rock band Motley Crue is preparing for their final bow, with just one more major tour before the band's retirement.

The Final Tour, presented by automaker Dodge and produced by Live Nation, will kick off in North America on July 2 in Grand Rapids, Mich. and reach 72 markets before hitting international territories in 2015. Alice Cooper will also be joining the tour as a special guest.

While some bands have announced alleged final tours in the past which proved to not be so final, this one may be the real deal. According to Live Nation, the band has signed a 'cessation of touring agreement' that stipulates that The Final Tour is in fact, the final tour.

Band attorney Doug Mark of Mark Music & Media Law explains: "Other bands have split up over rancor or the inability of people to get along, but this is mutual among all four original members and a peaceful decision to move on to other endeavors and to confirm it with a binding agreement." Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars will go their separate ways after the lengthy two-year touring cycle.

The Final Tour will coincide with a film based on Motley Crue's New York Times best-selling book The Dirt, one of the best-selling rock books. Jeff Tremaine (Bad Grandpa) has signed on to direct the film, which will hit the theatres in 2015 as the tour goes International.

The tour will also see some promotional support from an unlikely angle. A list of country music artists that includes Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts are collaborating in a joint venture with Motley Records And Eleven Seven Music for the release of a Country Music Tribute To Motley Crue, which is expected to hit the shelves this summer. Among the other artists already confirmed to be featured on the album are LeAnn Rimes, Florida Georgia Lin , Brantley Gilbert and Cassadee Pope. More artists will be announced as the album nears its release date.
