Neighbors 'Wale' Over Obscene Concert

FREDERICKSBURG, VA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Wale, rapper and DC native, shook some heads at his recent homecoming show at the University of Mary Robinson.

Students had voted for Wale to take the stage for the Saturday show, but after University President Rick Hurley received neighbors' noise complaints from the concert, he was moved to make an apology.

The following was included in a letter from Hurley in The Free Lance-Star:

Unfortunately, the Saturday evening performance proved to be disruptive to some of our adjacent neighborhoods. Not only was the music extremely loud, but the language contained in the lyrics was upsetting to those who would not choose to attend a concert of this nature.

I am sorry that a high-spirited weekend on campus ended on such a negative note for some of our closest neighbors who were offended by both the volume and the content of the music.

Hurley says the university would have held the concert indoors if he had known about the performer's lyrics.
