ALBANY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Three possible bidders interested in having their company’s name on the Pepsi Arena toured the facility last week.
Aside from the representatives from Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and Citizens Bank who met with arena General Manager Bob Belber to see the 17,500-seat Albany venue, 19 other companies have downloaded a “request for proposal” form according to a county spokesperson.
The current contract with Pepsi Bottling Group, worth a total of $4.5 million, expires at the end of the year. According to the MSNBC, the minimum bid for the new contract is $3.5 million, or $350,000 per year, but Belber said the new contract could be “potentially a lot more” than the current deal.
Other possible bidders include KeyBank, TD Banknorth, and Bank of America.
The county will be accepting sealed bids until the close of business on Friday, February 17th. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
