Pressplay, the new Internet subscription music service which is backed by major labels Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and EMI Recorded Music, plus a number of independent labels, made its debut Dec. 19. Subscribers can stream, download, and burn music, but will only have access to tracks from pressplay labels.
The service is offering a 14-day, risk-free trial that includes 200 streams and 20 downloads via affiliates Yahoo! MSN Music and Roxio. It will soon be offered through MP3.com and other affiliates.
Following are details on each monthly pricing plan:
14-day Free Trial: 200 streams, 20 downloads (for a limited time only)
Basic Plan – $9.95: 300 streams, 30 downloads
Silver Plan – $14.95: 500 streams, 50 downloads, 10 burns
Gold Plan – $19.95: 750 streams, 75 downloads, 15 burns
Platinum Plan – $24.95: 1,000 streams, 100 downloads, 20 burns
