NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Murrah Music Corporation owner, Chairman and CEO Roger Murrah announced today that Doug Colton has been appointed President of the company.
In this position, Colton will direct the overall business of Murrah Music, with an emphasis on vision, growth and copyright protection. His responsibilities will include developing commerce strategies and overseeing all legal and business affairs. Colton’s duties will also include analyzing and acquiring catalogs, maintaining and developing international relations, and overseeing A&R and development opportunities in the pop, rock, Latin and urban music markets.
Prior to becoming President, Colton was Murrah Music’s General Counsel and Director of International Relations. Colton is an attorney specialized in music publishing, copyright and intellectual property law. Before joining Murrah Music, he was in private practice working with the highly respected international entertainment firm of Sukin Law Group, P.C., in New York. He has represented a diverse array of clients including Warner Chappell Music, the estates of Elvis Presley and George Gershwin, along with songwriters, artists and an extensive list of international music publishers.
