LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — According to a report in Macworld, a new poll conducted by Jacobs Media, growth outlook for iPods/Mp3 players continues to be very strong.
"iPods are showing no signs of stopping," said Fred Jacobs, president of Jacobs Media "Last year, our data showed that the growth of personal mp3 players was far from over. This year, our new study confirms that this phenomenon continues to have lots of life, and we expect strong growth throughout ’07."
The poll was conducted during the months of February and March with 25,000 respondents.
Among the topics explored in the survey were likelihood to acquire a mp3 player this year, which averaged about 40% saying that it was "very likely"
When queried about where they use their devices, nearly half of the respondents use them in their automobiles. This continues to reflect the growing challenges faced by traditional radio broadcasters as drivers are one of their key markets. Really, who wants to listen to Clear Channel playlists when you have access to all of your favorite music?
Finally, at odds with the previous finding, the feature that respondents seem to want most (33%) in their mp3 player is an FM receiver. Go figure. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
