BUDAPEST, Hungary (CelebrityAccess) — Dan Panaitescu, the International Booking Manager for Hungarian festival Sziget was killed on June 15th in a car crash, event organizers have announced.
A statement posted on the festival's Facebook page on Saturday said:
"Tragic news has hit the Sziget crew this morning. Our colleague and friend, Dan Panaitescu, who has worked on Sziget and all of our festivals from the very beginning and who is one of the most well-known promoters, has died in a car accident last night.
"Dan was the one, who booked all those great artists to all of our festivals! Moreover, we can also thank him for the ‘Best Line-up’ Award at the European Festival Awards for Sziget.
"We are speechless."
News reports state that Panaitescu was returning from Banffy Castle, near Cluj-Napoca, Romania after attending the Electric Castle festival when the crash occurred. – Staff Writers
