Tixdaq Hires Former EMI Executive

LONDON (VIP NEWS) — Tixdaq.com,
the British-based independent ticketing consultancy and online price comparison service, has recruited former EMI executive Will Waddington to the role as chief operations and financial officer.

Until recently, Waddington has served as senior director of business and technology strategy at EMI Music.

Prior to that, he was head of commercial analysis at Virgin Records U.K., with responsibility for delivering the business' strategic and commercial plan, market intelligence and business support for sales and marketing functions.

Waddington reports in his new role to Tixdaq founder Will Muirhead.

Commenting on the appointment, Muirhead said, "The live music industry never had the same quality of data and analysis as the record business until Tixdaq.com came along." He adds, "We are seeing increasing demand for our data products and have now embarked on an aggressive strategy of licensing our data as widely as possible. We are delighted to have Will on board to help us in our transformation from a start-up into a fully-functioning operational business."

Muirhead established Tixdaq in 2006 to address the "knowledge gap" in the live music industry.

Earlier this week, the London-based firm extended it's service to the U.K. theater market, listing primary and secondary ticketing data for shows in London's West Ends and around the country, according to Billboard
