Jagermeister Tour To Kick Off March 6
After the success of last year's groundbreaking, earthshaking tour, the Jägermeister Music Tour is back! Produced and promoted by Clear Channel Entertainment and set to take off on March 6 in Philadelphia, the tour features some of the heaviest acts in the business: Saliva, (hed) Planet Earth, Breaking Benjamin, Systematic, and Stereomud.
Last year's Jägermeister Music Tour, which featured Drowning Pool, Ill Niño, and Coal Chamber, was one of the breakout tours of the year. Jägermeister provided a festival feel at a bargain price and promises to do more of the same this time around. "We were thrilled with last year's tour, and evidently, the fans were, too," says Lee Einsidler, executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "This year, we're ready to crank it up to a higher level."
With tickets priced at about $20, ticket holders can expect plenty of bang for their buck including great Jägermeister raffle prizes and giveaways like the all-new 2003 Jägermeister Compilation CDs with live and unreleased tracks from Slayer, (hed) Planet Earth, Drowning Pool, Down, Otep, Systematic, Breaking Benjamin, and others as well as plenty of Jägermeister shirts, hats, and more. Other prizes and giveaways from sponsors include customized Jägermeister guitars from Schecter Guitars, customized Jägermeister amplifiers from Peavey Electronics, and plenty of cool threads from No Fear. (Giveaways and raffle prizes are subject to state and local laws and are not available in California and may not be available at other shows.)
Each performance will feature a local opening act sponsored by the Jägermeister Band Program, the highly-touted program designed to seek out and promote up-and-coming talent. Fans will also be treated to world premiere freestyle motocross footage from members of Metal Mulisha. And of course, the world-famous Jägerettes will be on hand along with the Jägermeister Buses, making sure everyone is having as much fun as humanly possible.
"We are thrilled to be working with Jagermeister once again to produce and promote the second annual Jagermeister Music Tour," said Bruce Eskowitz, president, National Sales & Marketing, Clear Channel Entertainment. "Clear Channel Entertainment has always been committed to providing new opportunities for artists at every stage of their career and so has Jägermeister. This tour is a winning combination for both companies and the artists on the bill."

SnoCore 2003 Kicks Off On February 11
ARTISTdirect's, SnoCore 2003, America's first and only winter-season, road-show celebration of cutting-edge rock and the snow-sports lifestyle, will kick off on February 11 in Albuquerque, NM, and will play at least thirty-one dates before it winds up on the east coast in late March.
Throughout most of February and March, the SnoCore 2003 package of live music and spectacular videos, co-sponsored by ARTISTdirect, will revisit many of the areas where, in its eight-year history, it has already become an annual tradition. This year's tour will also hit several new markets.
"We'll be doing the same show in every city we play," says John Boyle, co-producer and co-owner of SnoCore. "For the kids in Salt Lake City, the skiing and snowboarding videos we'll show between bands will connect directly to their experiences. And for the kids in El Paso, who don't have the opportunity to participate as much in these sports, the videos will probably be even more exciting."
As with each previous SnoCore tour, this year's live music lineup was selected to assure killer performances by the most vital emerging bands. Featured acts include Sparta, Glassjaw, Hot Water Music, and Dredg — each known for its own brand of uncompromising, high-risk, hardcore rock.
"The kind of music we're featuring on SnoCore this year fits right in with snow-sport culture," Boyle explains. "I grew up in Lake Tahoe, skiing, snowboarding, and playing in bands. The adrenaline you get from playing music is certainly similar to what you feel in action sports; they just go hand-in-hand."
From its debut in the winter of 1995-'96, SnoCore has been a step ahead of the trend. Founded with the intention of bringing the best young bands directly to snow-sport settings, the show has featured System of a Down, Incubus, Sublime, Blink 182, Alien Ant Farm, and Primus among its headliners. Many of these acts received some of their first significant exposure through SnoCore; others were already selling at Gold or Platinum levels when recruited.
With all the momentum it's built since its early shows, SnoCore has outgrown the smaller venues in which it first appeared. Still, the original concept remains intact. "We have a unique identity," Boyle points out, "which focuses on developing artists with a little lifestyle twist. The bands this year represent the independent spirit that's bubbling under in rock and roll right now. Certainly these bands are at the forefront of the indie rock movement, which is driven by word of mouth and the Internet. It's exciting for us to run on that same grass-roots energy."
ARTISTdirect has sponsored SnoCore over the last five years. "I'm especially excited about this year's tour," says ARTISTdirect co-founder and CEO Marc Geiger, "because it's very much 'back to the egg,' with its punk rock energy. SnoCore is right in the zone of where music is going — more credibility, less pop — which is why it endures."

All Mighty Senators Will Support The Pretenders’ 2003 Loose Screw Tour
All Mighty Senators gladly accepted Chrissie Hynde’s invitation to support the Pretenders on their 31 date “Loose Screw Tour.” Hand selected by Hynde herself, AMS said that they are honored by her choice to bring them along for the ride.
Hynde picked All Mighty Senators after listening to a collection of 25 albums that had been narrowed down and passed along to her by management. The album Hynde heard that caught her attention? The Senators’ brand new
release, titled Music is Big Business (Dog Eat Dog Records), available in stores on February 11, 2003.

Jayhawks Cancel Tour
The Jayhawks have cancelled their January-February 2003 tour due the recent illness of
singer/guitarist/songwriter and co-founder Gary Louris. Louris was hospitalized January
23 with a condition known as pericarditis, an infection of the heart. While pericarditis is
life threatening, Louris is expected to make a full recovery and may be able to return
home within a week.
Currently Louris is resting in a Minneapolis hospital. Doctors have advised him that
under no circumstances can he travel or work for at least three weeks.
