President Appointed For Maverick Music

LOS ANGELES (VIP NEWS) — Greg Thompson is leaving Capitol Music Group and will take over as President of Maverick Music founder Guy Oseary has announced.

Thompson joins a Maverick team that boasts some of the industry`s most high-profile managers such as Oseary, Ron Laffitte, Gee Roberson, Cortez Bryant, Larry Rudolph, Adam Leber, Caron Veazey, Clarence Spalding and, most recently, J Erving among others.

Collectively, they oversee a client roster that includes U2, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Pharrell, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, T.I., Arcade Fire, Jason Aldean and more.

“I’m excited for this amazing chance to join a team with such a progressive and innovative culture and vision," Thompson said in a statement released by Live Nation, which is a partner in Maverick. "I want to thank Guy and the rest of the all-star managers at Maverick for this opportunity. I’m really looking forward to this next chapter.”

As president, a role which had not existed previously, Thompson will be "optimizing and identifying opportunities for talent," according the release. Prior to his stint at Capitol, during which he oversaw the company`s relocation back to its original Los Angeles headquarters, Thompson worked for EMI, Island/Def Jam, Elektra, SBK Records and Chrysalis, where he got his start in 1985.
