Radiohead Singer Plans Solo Show

LONDON (VIP-NEWS) – Radiohead singer Thom Yorke is to play a rare solo concert, appearing at the Latitude Festival in July.

The frontman is to perform without his bandmates on the main stage at midday on Sunday 19 July at the Suffolk event.

Yorke released his debut album, Eraser, in 2006, which earned a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

Yorke has played occasional acoustic sets at rallies and charity gigs in the past, but did not go on tour when his album came out.

Latitude organizer Melvin Benn said: "That it is a special one off performance for Latitude only fills me with enormous pride at the statement it makes about the festival."

Mr. Benn also organizes the Reading and Leeds festivals in August, where Radiohead are headlining.

After the band released their In Rainbows album in 2007, Yorke said he had written more solo songs. But Yorke's spokesperson said no new releases are currently planned.

The band went into the recording studio last month to start work on the follow-up to In Rainbows.

"We're at the stage where we've got the big Lego box out and we've tipped it out on the floor and we're looking at all the bits and thinking, what next?" bassist Colin Greenwood said at the time.
