MEXICO CITY, Mexico (CelebrityAccess) — After the devastating 7.1 magnitude earthquake that rocked Mexico City and nearby states, last Tuesday a number of the region’s key venues have reported that they emerged without major damage.

Foro Sol Stadium, Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez motor track, Estadio Azul stadium, Palacio de los Deportes arena, Pabellón Cuervo arena, Teatro Metropolitan, Teatro Telcel, Teatro Insurgentes and the Plaza Condesa concert hall were examined by a Director of Construction, (DRO for its Spanish abbreviation) and a Structural Technical Correspondent (CTE) to validate the physical state of the venues

As the result of these studies, no structural damage was found in the buildings or in their installations, and according to the Records of Structure Constancy provided by the DRO and CTE, the properties are able to operate normally.

However, while the Plaza Condesa itself was not damaged by the earthquake, the neighborhood around it suffered heavy damage which may be a factor in the venue’s operations while repairs are affected.

The earthquake, which lasted for more than 20 seconds, was responsible for the deaths of at least 331 people, with more than 4500 injured. A state of emergency has been declared and numerous events have been canceled, including all round of 16 matches for the Copa MX Cup.
